How
it works
PrivacyCall
Center comes from the factory preset allowing all callers with a phone
number displayed to ring through to your phones, just like normal. Phones
connected elsewhere throughout your home or office will ring as well.
Unknown, Unavailable, Private and Out of Area callers will be answered by
your main greeting and if they know your privacy code (extension number),
they can then enter it at anytime to make your phones ring. However, if you
don't want to hear from these callers as well, you can hang-up on them.
If you do
not want to invite everyone, you can invite just specific callers and block
everyone or everything else calling in.
Also, all
the phones throughout your home/office will continue to ring on Invited
calls until the fifth ring and then PrivacyCall will hang-up.
If you miss your Invited caller, your combo phone/answer machine or
your phone company's voice mail service will take a message for you.
Callers
you want to Block will be answered immediately and then hung-up on. Blocked
numbers can be pre-programmed in using your telephone or added as you go by
simply using the Yellow button on the front panel.
You can
still allow any caller to ring through to your answer machine and phones as
needed for business and block specific callers with various setups.
Different extension numbers can ring distinctively on Ports 1, 2, 3 and 4 to
indicate specific ring patterns associated with special callers or with
Distinctive Ring Service.
With Call
Forwarding feature enabled, your caller can be routed to your cell phone so
you won't miss those calls either. Only
3-Way calling service from the phone company is required for this feature to
work.
PrivacyCall
also detects and automatically routes fax calls based on the calling tone it
has when calling in. The fax is routed to the FAX port where you
can either let it hang up or take the fax call to your regular fax machine.
Distinctive ringing from the phone company is also supported if you are
using a different number for your business or fax.
The
CID Data port has Caller ID information that is delivered to your computer
in real time via the serial cable and connector supplied with the Pro model
or can be purchased separately. The data package includes Globalinx PC
software which the CID data works with directly.
